As we all know winter is here on full peak to chill us. In India especially people from hills and north can feel the chill. To fight with winter you have to stay warm from inside that only nutritional food can do. your body need warm food so that you can be fit in winters also.
Its time to indulge yourself in lip-smacking warm delicacies. So don’t worry for calories and lets prepare some fresh winter food at home and keep yourself warm and boost you immunity to stay healthy.it speed up the metabolism and increase the body temperature.
Here are some Indian food to add in your daily meal to keep you and family warm and healthy in this winter.
Vegetable Soup
A bowl of hot soup is everyone’s favorite in this winter, it soothes our throat and keep warm from inside. you can prepare it with lots of veggies of your choice like carrot, onion, beetroot, tomato and ginger with pinch of spices. its quick and rich of nutrients in one bowl only which is needed. You can have this in evening and with dinner also.
Masala tea
A cup of tea is just love for mostly people in india. during winter we add some masala in tea that make it popular winter drink. We add clove, Ginger, basils and cinnamon etc. that makes the chai nutrients rich. A cup of kadak masala chai helps us to stay warm and cozy during freezing winter.
Veg Tandoori Platter
To make this Tandoori Platter combine paneer, mushroom, broccoli, Baby corn and some Baby potatoes with aromatic spices and enjoy with different dips as per your choice like hummus, cheese dip and mint mayo dip. Marinate all that and then cook in either in tandoor or you can also make in pan very easily. its so lip-smacking and lots of colorful veggies are there and mostly winter vegetable you include to make it healthy winter food.
Fritters/Pakora
we Indian can never forget to make fritters/pakora during freezing winter. Make fritters of cauliflower, potato, onion, babycorn, spring onion, paneer and mix veggies and put some warm spices into batter and try to fry in pure mustard oil, and have this with masala tea. this is perfect winter food to relish.
Sabudana Tikki
Hot Sabudana tikki with choice of dip can be delicious dish as winter food. To make this tikki we can mix mashed potato with soaked Sabudana with choice of spices then give it a deep fry or bake in Airfryer. But I like my Sabudana tikki as deep fried in hot oil 😊.believe me , this crunchy and hot dish will make you happy and warm at the same time. Potato high in potassium and Sabudana that is high in calcium both can make power pack hot dish. Gobhi parantha
Winter is the best time to enjoy our desi gobhi parantha.this dish is a must have Punjabi breakfast /dinner with lots of butter. You can include cauliflower in your diet mostly because it’s a winter veggies and nature has provided us as seasonal vegetables to stay healthy and warm. Grate cauliflower and sauté with some spices as per taste and stuffing is all set, Make dough of whole wheat flour and do stuffing and make parantha with ghee or butter. Enjoy this with curd or dip.
Raddish parantha
Eating raddish during winters can give you a numerous health benefits. It contains high in Vitamin C that is essential to fight cold and cough in the freezing winter. Raddish or mooli is one of the root vegetable that is rich in Vitamins and minerals not only raddish its leaves are also very healthy for body. To make this simply grate mooli mix with salt and spices and fill in wheatflour dough balls then make parantha with ghee or butter.every bite of this parantha can satisfy your tastebud with its tangy and hot mooli filling. Be healthy and stay warm during this freezing winter. These will make your body warm from inside will prepare you to maintain in this chilly winter.
Peas kachori
Green peas can be easily available in winter and it is most sold vegetable also. Almost every household like and consume widely in India itself. they belong to the legume family so they are rich in protein and fibre.you can include peas in your diet in various form but most delicious form is peas kachori as winter food. To make this kachori boil fresh peas then sauté and grind it. Then this filling will go inside flaky dough and fry it and have with hot potato curry. Make your winter food super delicious with these delicacies.
Exotic Vegetable in Hot Garlic Sauce
A hot bowl of Exotic vegetable in hot garlic sauce is my family favorite in freezing winter. You can combine broccoli, Bel pepper, Baby corn, mushroom and zucchini with lots of garlic. Now I’m pretty sure no need to explain why its must have winter food list. Very quick you can make just boil all the vegetables then sauté mix some sauce/spices with corn floor slurry. Enjoy this with regular chapatis or you can also have with noodles. This dish will surely gonna maintain the body temperature in this winter season.
Pinni/wheat jaggery laddu/Atta laddoo
Aate ki pinni also called as Aata laddu, that is very popular from ancient time. We have seen our mothers always prepared these laddu for us during winter with lots of dry fruits, ghee and jaggery. These all item rather dry fruits ,jaggery and ghee they provide heat in our body and boost our immunity to fight sickness. you can prepare variety of laddu like Gond ke laddu, Dates laddu, Sesame laddu and Ragi laddu. All are very lip smacking and nutritious which can’t be described. It’s a best power packed and rich in nutrients for sweet tooth satisfaction. In India mostly home having winter rituals to make laddu to keep themselves warm.
